We wanted to show you how much consistently stronger U.S. growth has been compared with that of China, Japan, and the euro area. In the euro area, growth is strengthening on trend but remains far weaker than in the United States. Japan has suffered four negative quarters and one almost flat quarter in recent years. And Chinese growth is trending weaker. You can see this by comparing the following four graphs showing annualized quarterly growth rates for these regions.
